Studies

Lucille Leader has studied at the Institute for Optimum Nutrition in London, qualifying as a registered Nutritional Therapist. She undertook further years of post-graduate nutritional studies.

She completed a research project entitled: Analysis of The Effects of The Removal of Gluten and Other Unknown Compounds Contained in Wheat, Rye, Oats, and Barley in Sufferers of The Irritable Bowel Syndrome. This project was supervised by Dr Philip Barlow M.Sc., Ph.D., Dean of The School of Applied Science and Technology University of Humberside, and Supervisor of Research Projects at the Institute for Optimum Nutrition in London.

Her nutrition studies included the basic sciences Chemistry, Physics, Biology and thereafter Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pathophysiology, Diet, Laboratory Tests, Nutritional Supplementation and Specialised Feeding when the oral route fails.

Awareness of Integrated Care and the importance of Health Professionals team association and General Practitioner (GP) collaboration, formed part of her training.

This led to her publication of the academic book “Medical Collaboration for Nutritional Therapists” as well as 6 other books on Parkinson’s Disease as both Author and Co- author. Her clinical approach led to the awards “Outstanding Practice” in the UK and “Quality of Life in Parkinson’s Disease” in the USA.

She attends many continued Professional Development Courses (CPD) to update her knowledge of Biochemistry, Pathology, Medical and Nutritional Research.
